Entertainment 101

Lying.

Some say it's wrong, I say it's fun.
Lying to the people you love could of course be considered wrong, but lying to strangers? Who cares? These are people you are never going to see again.

Because of that fun little fact, making up stories about your past/who you are/what you believe in is a never ending entertainment.

Take me and my customers for example. I work as a waiter and get asked many questions as to where I'm from, what my name is, how I'm in England etc. So after the first 100 times of saying nothing but the truth, I got seriously bored.

I started telling them how I'm a troubled teen from California witch super rich parents that lives in a house on Malibu. These so called parents of mine didn't appreciate me as I was so wild. Even though the only reason I was wild was because they were never home, always working and not showing me enough emotional loving.
After hitting the last straw, they forced me to study in the UK in order to discipline me. Part of this discipline is only paying for my schooling while I have to pay for the rest, hence working at Zizis as a waiter.

1) My days at work are so much more interesting.
2) My tips get bigger as my customers pity for me grows.

Affected?

This whole drama about the star sign dates changing has got me thinking. If you were told as a child that you were a different star sign, do you think you would be a different person now?

I automatically began to think of the clean slate we have as children. I wish I could start talking about research I studied during A levels but I have completely forgotten it. However I do remember that what it basically finds is that children have a clean slate in their minds. Basically, their personality is clear until outside sources influence it.
Now usually the influences are that of role models. For example parents or personal heroes. However what if something as simple as a star sign could be one of those influences.

Imagine you are a child and you are basically a sponge. Your parent comes up to you, reads you a statement from a book and says "Because you are a Scorpio, that is how you are."

What does a child think? If we are told what type of people we are based on supposed solid facts, wouldn't we, as children, simply agree and sort of add that attribute to our clean slate?

Think about it right now as an adult. Imagine someone came up to you and told you that as of today, you are a different star sign. Does that change your attributes? Does it change your personality and 'things that tick you off' as most star sign books speak of?

Just another bolt of a though stretched out into a blogpost.
I think as children we would have been affected, but not as adults. I agree Nature is a strong thing, however I think Nurture is just as strong. Life changes people.
Imagine someone telling you who you are before you're even aware you have no idea who the fuck you are.
